Mercedes Benz launches the M-Guard SUV, a new M-Class vehicle reinforced with body armor, bulletproof glass and run-flat tires to keep its occupants safe from gunfire and explosions. M-Guard features include the use of reinforced steel for the doors and around the rest of the cockpit. Optional under-floor armour enables the car to cope with a grenade explosion while ensuring that passengers remain safe.

Canadian Armed Forces start major military exercise Nunalivut 2013 in high Artic
 

The Canadian armed forces has started a major military exercise in high Arctic to showcase its sovereignty in the region, the National Defense Department said on Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Operation Nunalivut 2013 will be held from April 2 to 30 in the northwestern portion of the Arctic Archipelago, extending as far west as Mould Bay, Northwest Territories, and north to Isachsen, Nunavut.

The U.S. Navy reports that Buffalo Mine Resistant Ambush Protection vehicles operated by the Marine Corps are being upgraded with a rear-door assist device. The rear door of the armored vehicle weighs 500 pounds and is opened manually. It was designed for flat ground, which makes opening it difficult on uneven terrain or in a rollover situation.
