Defense Minister Pendes said that the donation of 24 HMMWV’s was a statement of cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United States. “Its [the] everyday work [of] employees of the US Embassy [that] further enhance the modernization of the Armed Forces of BiH, [along with] the continuous professional development of our staff, as well as material support.

The donated 24 vehicles worth $ 3.5 million, and an additional 20 to be delivered by year-end, will substantially enhance the ability of the armed forces. The vehicles that you see provide a platform to upgrade the means of protection by OSBiH operations, reconnaissance and tactical offensive operations.” said Pendes.

Ambassador Cormack pointed out the HMMWV’s ability to overcome the most inhospitable terrain on the planet ?–from the deserts of the Middle East to the tundra in Alaska, and are synonymous with the US Army, NATO and other strong Armies on the planet and are the foundation of mobile armed forces. “[The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina] that are shown during the floods of 2014 will now be able to react more quickly and efficiently across the whole country.
