"A batch of eight Taifun-K armored vehicles with a remote-controlled combat module has been delivered to special operations units. The servicemen will soon start learning to drive the vehicles in cross-country terrain in various weather conditions at a training range in the Novosibirsk Region," the press office said.

"Besides, the special operators will practice defensive actions, firing from the vehicles being on the move, dismounting and breaking out of the simulated enemy’s encirclement," the press office added.

The Taifun-K armored vehicle is designed to transport special operators. The vehicle is able to protect the crew, cargo, systems and units against 30mm rounds, landmines and mines.

The Taifun-K is a cross-country vehicle due to its 6x6 chassis. It has a maximum speed of 105 km/h (65 mph).

The armored module has ports to fire small arms and can accommodate remote-controlled weapons.
