At Army-2017, the International Military Technical Forum in Russia, Uralvagonzavod presents a scale model of the 2S41 Drok,a new wheeled self-propelled mortar carrier based on the chassis of the 4x4 armoured vehicle Taifun K-4386.

The Taifun K-4386 is manufactured by the Russian Company Remdizel Special Vehicle Plant, a subdivision of KAMAZ. The vehicle is protected against firing of small arms and shell splinters. It has a crew of four.
According to Russian military, the 2S41 is fitted with a remotely operated weapon station armed with one 82mm mortar. A scale model of the 2S41 was also presented on the booth of the Russian Ministry of defense (MoD) with another turret but with the same 82mm mortar.
The scale model of the 2S41 showed at the Uralvagonzavod booth was equipped with a second remote weapon station mounted on the front roof armed with a 7.62mm machine gun, while the 2S41 on the Russian MoD booth has a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun mounted on the left side of the turret. The 82mm mortar has a firing range from 100 to 6,000 m. It has a firing rate of 12 rounds per minute. |
