Warplanes from Saudi-led Arab coalition hit Yemen's military airport in the capital Sanaa and a naval base in the Red Sea port of al-Hodayda on Wednesday, military officials said. They said the raids destroyed air defense systems in warehouses at al-Dailamy Airport, the headquarters of the air force base north of Sanaa, and anti-ships missiles at the naval base in al-Hodayda.

Japan's Self Defence Forces (SDF) on Tuesday began four days of live-fire drills near Mount Fuji, in an annual exercise that comes as Tokyo tries to expand the role of the military. About 2,300 soldiers joined the exercise with some 80 tanks and armoured vehicles as well as 60 field guns and 20 helicopters deployed at training grounds, 80 kilometres (50 miles) west of Tokyo.

The Defense Ministry of South Korea said Monday it will host a contest in October to pick the best anti-hacking experts as part of efforts to fight growing hacking threats in cyberspace. In the 2015 White Hat Contest, to be held in October, three final teams each will be picked from the adult and underage segments in a simulated cyberattack situation in which the contestants are tasked with blocking hacking attempts, the ministry said.
