Iran inaugurates production line of Nasr high-precision air-based cruise missile.
The Iranian defense ministry on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, inaugurated the production line of its powerful and high-precision air-based cruise missile, ‘Nasr'. The mass-production of Nasr missile started in a ceremony on the occasion of the Government's Week in the presence of Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan.

The country has repeatedly made it clear that its military might is merely based on the state's defense doctrine of deterrence and that it poses no threat to other countries.

"The inauguration of Nasr air-launched cruise missile would increase the strength of tactical power of the Iranian military forces," Dehghan said. He asserted that the Nasr missile system could be installed on different kinds of fighters.

Speaking on the sidelines of the ceremony, the minister stressed that development of the Iran's missile power aimed at reinforcing the combat power of the armed forces and increasing the level of the country's deterrence.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in the defense sector and gained self-sufficiency in essential military hardware and defense systems.
