Russian tank division in the Urals receives T-72B3M tanks.

The Guards Tank Division of the Central Military District (CVO), stationed in the Chelyabinsk Region, received ten T-72B3M tanks with improved combat characteristics. This was announced by the commander of the troops, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin.

“In August, the Guards Tank Division of the Central Military District received 10 T-72B3M tanks with improved combat characteristics. The new equipment will increase the combat capabilities of the compound due to improved maneuverability, armor protection of the crew, as well as the use of modern sighting equipment", said Colonel General A. Lapin.

The T-72B3M tanks, which entered service with the tank division in the South Urals, are equipped with a new engine, a built-in passive and active protection system, as well as an Aqueduct communication system and a Sosna-U multi-channel sight with a thermal imager. Also, new armored vehicles were received by higher military educational institutions stationed in the territory of the military district. To ensure the training process of cadets, the armament park of the Novosibirsk Higher Command and Kazan Higher Tank Command School was supplemented with 6 units of modernized BMP-2M infantry fighting vehicles and two modern tanks with a T-80BVM gas turbine power plant.
