Among other products showcased at Defexpo 2016, ECA Group chose to highlight its well-known IT180-3EL-I mini VTOL unmanned aerial system.

ECA's IT180-3EL-I is a mini ISTAR VTOL UAS dedicated to Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) missions. This product is based on IT180-3ELE and can be equipped with several payloads such as a gyro stabilized EO/IR camera and many others.

IT180-3ELE is a mini VTOL UAV propelled by a brushless electrical engine powered with 2 state of the art Lithium Polymer batteries. Thanks to its unique patented contra rotating structure IT180- 3ELE can stay stable and reliable in any weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, wind) making it one of the most resilient UAV.

Able to fly up to 50 minutes with a 3 kg payload fastened on the bottom and/or on the top, IT180-3ELE is a market reference for performance in the electrical mini UAV category.

Able to provide geolocation capability for target acquisitions, the IT-180-3EL-I is very quick to deploy (less than 6 minutes) and easy to operate with only one operator thanks to the Ground Control Station.

Ground Control Station (GCS) of the IT180-3EL-I features a ruggedized PC with touchscreen, Intuitive interface, Point-and-click touchscreen navigation, and Dynamic flight plans including scouting mode. The Data Link Terminal (DLT) can comprise enhanced data and video link security with encryption, frequency selected upon customer requirements, and can perform long range operation with antenna tracking.

Its resilience and stealthiness give key advantages for full spectrum of ISTAR operations. Providing enhanced situational awareness, the IT180-3EL-I is used by French army since 2012.
