At ExpoDefensa 2015, the International Exhibition of Defense and Security which takes place in Bogota (Colombia), the Israeli Company Plasan displays the latest light 4x4 armoured vehicle delivered to the Colombian Police, the Sandcat.

After an agreement signed in December 2012, between the Colombian Ministries of Defense and Transportation, the Army and the National Police receive in March 2015, 13 SandCat light protected multi-role vehicle, which were designed to protect roads and infrastructure critical points of the country.

The SandCat is a protected multirole vehicle built to offer high performance and payload capacities for challenging missions.

The SandCat is a compact, highly manoeuvrable platform capable of carrying up to eight fully equipped soldiers. The SandCat vehicle has been optimized for travelling in dense urban terrain as well as over rough, unpaved roads. The SandCat is customized for both military and homeland security purposes, such as SWAT missions and counter-insurgency activity. It is based on an upgraded commercial of-the-shelf Ford F-Series 4x4 chassis, adapted by Oshkosh Corporation for military use and fitted with Plasan-designed and manufactured modular armour made of advanced Metal Composite & Ceramics Composite Kitted Hull structure.

In 2011, the Israeli company Plasan has won a bid of approximately $35 million to supply some 250 armored vehicles Sandact to the Mexican ministry of defense.

In September 2015, during the defene exhibition MSPO in Poland, Plasan has announced a contract of $6.56 million to provide modified SandCat 4x4 armoured vehicles for the Polish Military Police Special Unit.

Now the Sandcat vehicle becomes one of the most popular vehicle in the world used by Police and armed forces all over the world. The Sandcat is now in service with Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, Israel, Mexico, Nigeria and Sweden.
