China has launched the production of Russian-made 9M119 AT-11 Sniper anti-tank guided missile.
The People`s Republic of China (PRC) has launched the production of Russian 125mm 9M119 Reflex (NATO reporting name: AT-11 Sniper) anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) designated as GP7 in the Chinsese service, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute`s (SIPRI) arms transfer database.

In accordance with the database, the contract for 9M119 missiles with the PRC was signed in 1998. The appropriate supplies have started in 2001. In 2015, China has established the local 9M119 production under GP7 designation. "(The missiles have been) probably produced or copied in China as GP7 from 2015", the author of the report said.

As of 2015, Chinese armed forces have received about 1500 9M119/GP7 for Type 98 and type 99 main battle tanks.

9M119 ATGM was developed by the Instrument Design Bureau (Russian acronym: KBP, a subsidiary of High-Precision Weapons) in the 1980s. The missile has a maximum range of 5000 m and an armour-piercing capacity of 850-900mm behind explosive reactive armour. Reflex is suitable for all modifications of Russian 2A46 and 2A75 tank guns.-
