"We are completing the developing of a unique scout vehicle. The work will be finalized soon. The vehicle is being derived from the Tigr," he said, adding that the designers were building on the strengths and weaknesses of in-service vehicles.

Martsenyuk said the development of a training facility would start next year, with the facility designed for troops to learn to drive the scout vehicle. In addition, a specialist chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) reconnaissance vehicle has been derived from the Tigr recently.

To date, National Guard scientists have completed 92 researches, shipped 69 prototypes of advanced materiel for operational evaluation, devised 70 standards, regulations and specifications for the Extradepartmental Protection Directorate, trained over 15,000 technical specialists, and applied around 50 Russian and international standards.
