We are carrying out running and live-firing tests. We have done large-scale work. Now, we are waiting for live-firing tests, in the first place. This will depend on the date when we receive ammunition from our Rosatom colleagues," Siyenko said.

According to him, the state corporation is carrying out the work as this kind of ammunition is peculiar. "The talk is about long-rod penetrators. Rosatom said that it would be able to do the work and we are helping them," Siyenko said.

According to him, the requirements set to the trials are becoming tougher.

"This may become endless. We would like the Armed Forces to start using the product as soon as possible," the CEO said.

"We hope that the Armed Forces will start using the tank in 2018, if not in 2017," he added.

In mid-2016, Uralvagonzavod Deputy CEO Vyacheslav Khalitov said that the large-batch production of the advanced Russian-made tank based on the Armata combat platform would begin in 2018.
