Hello,
Dutch army military equipment and vehicles:
http://www.armyrecognition.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1498
I didn’t find it anywhere else on this site….so, let’s start a Dutch topic too !
(All pics taken by myself)
YPR-765. Basicly the same as the US Bradley.
This vehicle will be replaced (the next years) by the tracked CV-90 and the wheeled Boxer.
This is the basic version.
Little note: this one has no armour around the gunners-turret.
Basic version, but WITH armour around gunners-turret (as used in Afghanistan etc.)
…typical Dutch weather….
YPR-756 GWT (Gewondentransport)
YPR-765 PRVR (Pantserrups Vracht)
YPR-765 PRI (Pantserrups Infanterie)
YPR-765 PRCO (Pantserrups Commando)
YPR-765 used for B.D.R.(battle damage repair), recovery-training (towing etc.)
Fennek
Leopard 1 Bergings tank Recovery tank
Leopard 1 Genie tank Engineer tank
Leopard 1 Bruggenlegger Bridge tank
Leopard 2 Bergings tank “Buffel” Recovery tank
Leopard 2A6 Gevechts tank Main battle tank
Here are some old vehicles, no longer on active duty, but still in army service for special occasions.
Leopard 1V Gevechtstank
...and these Leo 1´s are used for B.D.R.(battle damage repair), recovery-training (towing etc.)
Leopard 2A4 Gevechtstank fun to drive with, without turret. The same power, but less weight !
If you look very good you can see backrests of seats on the place where the turret used to be. This Leo is used to drive passengers around.
Centurion Gevechtstank
..still driving…(I love the sound and smoke when starting…)
…or stationary in the (Dutch) Cavalry museum at the Bernhard barracks in Amersfoort-Holland.
More (old & new) Dutch to come later…if you want…… |

Very nice Spooky, thanks for sharing!

I guess you mean the AIFV (which was further developed into the Bradley). Have a look here (I still have to make a page for the YPR-765 versions):

Please send some more. Do you have images of an M109 driver trainer (Les) by any chance? |

Will see what I can find. I took some 109 pics when I worked with this one, but I am not sure if I got some during my driving lessons....
As the M-109 no longer drives around in the Dutch army (the Panzer-Howitzer replaced it), maybe I will find a stored one somewhere.
..and about the YPR-765 / the Bradley.
You are totally right there. I meant the AIFV.
I will be able to post some more pics next weekend. |

I never saw our YPR´s driving around without these floating shields myself !!
I work as a mechanic (trucks, tanks and tracked vehicles) for the Dutch army in Holland. I only see the vehicles as they drive around here, and not tuned like in Afghanistan, sorry.
But I promise, I will do my best to get some good photo´s (as soon as the weather gets any better) taken at our test-track. |

No, sorry...little misunderstanding
The YPR´s drive around here in Holland with all these equipments, but.....
In Afghanistan they drive around without the armour-/floating body mounted.
The YPR-765 usually has this about 5 mm thick bended armour and filled up with this foam (about 20 CM thick) which keeps the vehicle stabil when swimming in the water.
Maybe you do not know, but the YPR is able to float like a boat.
So, in Afghanistan nothing is added for equipment, but things are removed !...as it seems there´s not many water in the neighbourhood
Possibly this picture shows it better what is all mounted always. example, here is the YPR-PRVR (pantserrups vracht), equipped specially as a cargo-YPR.
..or here as the YPR-GWT (gewondentransport) the medic-YPR.
...even in Bosnia they drove around (in the early ´90s) with these equipment (but no armour-/floating body removed here !). Here is a fresh UN painted YPR,
with in the background/right an YPR-PRAT (pantserrups anti-tank), the anti-tank YPR with the TOW-rocket turret.
