Latest technologies and innovations of Ukrainian main battle tank with the Oplot at IDEX 2013.
At IDEX 2013, Ukraine exhibitis one of the most modern main battle tank designed and produced by its defence industry, the Oplot. This main battle tank (MBT) is the result of continued main battle tank development by the Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau, which is Ukraine's leading design authority for armoured fighting vehicles.

The Oplot MBT , widely known among military experts, has high firepower, protection and mobility, it is capable of executing a variety of combat missions in diverse climate, weather, temperature (from -40 C to +55 C) and terrain conditions.

The Oplot MBT armament includes a 125 mm tank gun, 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun, 12.7 mm antiaircraft machinegun. ‘Oplot' is equipped with the most modern protection system, satellite navigation system and means of communication.

The Oplot has a number of advnaced features as new generation of reactive armour which provides high level of protection against chemical energy and kinetic energy attack over the front, thermal imaging sight, new computerized firing control system, auxiliary power unit, muzzle reference system, navigation system and more.

There is alo additionnal protection of the of the hull sides and running gear components against attacks by infantry armed with short range anti-tank missiles.

The Oplot MBT is now in production and in service with the Ukrainian armed forces. In September 2011, the Ukrainian state-controlled arms exporter, and the Royal Thai Army on September signed a contract for the delivery of 49 Oplot main combat tanks for the Royal Thai Armed Forces.
