A video posted on youtube, Monday, July 9, 2012, shows that the Syrian army is equipped with the new Russian-made air defence missile system Pechora-2M. Some sources of information on Internet report that in 2011, Russia would have made modernization of air defense missile system S-125 Pechora (SA-3 Goa ) to Pechora-2M level.

Mobile test facility for MEADS Medium Extended Air Defense System missile has been delivered
 

A first-of-its-kind mobile test facility has been delivered to White Sands Missile Range, N.M. to support the Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS). The mobile test facility, or the MEADS System Stimulator – Mobile (MSS-M), is a suite of test equipment that generates real-time synthetic targets and validates operational MEADS system performance. By accelerating data collection, it reduces time and cost required to validate system performance.

The British government announced Thursday, July 5, 2012, that the British army is to become smaller, with many units axed altogether as it undergoes a fundamental restructuring. The defense secretary Philip Hammond told the House of Commons that the Army's regular soldiers is set to fall from the current strength of 102,000 to 82,000, while reservists will double to 30,000 under a plan called Army 2020.

Iran inaugurates the production line of a new anti-armour missile system named Dehlaviyeh
 

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi on Saturday, July 7, 2012, inaugurated the production line of a new home-made anti-armor missile system named 'Dehlaviyeh'. "The Dehlaviyeh missile is one of the most hi-tech anti-armor missiles designed for destroying different advanced tanks which are equipped with reactive armor," Vahidi said at the inauguration ceremony of the missile system.

Michael Parodi, product manager Meteorological and Target Identification Capabilities, was on hand at the Lockheed Martin facility in Akron, Ohio; to accept the delivery of the last PTDS ordered. Since its original introduction as a quick reaction capability the Army has procured 66 systems that have been used in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Thales to supply solutions for Norwegian Armed Forces CV90 infantry fighting vehicle upgrade
 

Thales Norway will deliver communication, security and soldier integration solutions for the CV90 upgrade programme as part of a Norwegian team lead by Kongsberg. The team, including Kongsberg, Thales Norway and Vinghøg, will supply combat systems for military vehicles to BAE Systems. BAE Systems, Sweden, is the main supplier to the Norwegian Army's upgrade programme of the CV90 infantry fighting vehicle.
