Ukroboronprom to supply modernized T-64 and T-72 main battle tanks to Ukraine National Guard.
On July 26, 2014, Petro Poroshenko, President of Ukraine visited the first operational brigade of National Guard in the training center located in Novi Petrivtsi. Petro Poroshenko got acquainted with weaponry and military equipment samples, which are to be sent to ATO area. He examined ammunition, sniper complexes, artillery armament, air-to-air defence means, grenade launchers, and module complex for placement of fighters.

Roman Romanov, General Director of ‘Ukroboronprom’ State Concern presented weaponry samples of Concern member-enterprises production to Head of the state. President of Ukraine familiarized with technical specifications of BTR-3E1 and BTR-4E Armored Personnel Carriers and ‘Dozor-B’ light armored vehicle. Roman Romanov reported the Head of the state about the finalization of installation in August 2014 of auxiliary protection from cumulative charges on all armored vehicles, which had been supplied to National Guard. According to the executive the testing of the protection facility proved its reliability and efficiency.

Also President was shown two samples of T-64 and T-72 modernized tanks, which can be manufactured at Concern enterprises for the needs of National Guard and other state power authorities of Ukraine.

Besides, Petro Poroshenko was shown the samples of high-precision weapons of SE ‘Luch’ production, which is incorporated with Ukroboronprom. This included ‘Skif’ antitank missile system, and also the newest ‘Sarmat’ combat module.

Facility has gearless slewing mechanism, which qualitatively improves navigation and target tracking processes. Module is designed to equip the line of combat vehicles, small ships, and coast guard motorboats.

President assigned Concern General Director to solve all the issues related to the prompt transfer of armored vehicles and high-precision weaponry to the anti-terrorist operation soldiers. President noted that those tanks, APCs, the newest armored personnel carriers and protection means which were transferred National Guard are capable to implement tasks assigned to our troops. According to him, such equipment will allow protecting both peaceful population and servicemen. “We have demonstrated that Ukraine has facilities to protect itself and its people”, - Poroshenko said.
