The French defense procurement agency (Direction Générale de l’Armement - DGA) has awarded RENAULT TRUCKS Defense / Panhard a design contract to extend the service life of its light armored vehicle (VBL), with consolidated performance, to keep it in service with the French armed forces for the next fifteen years.

Saab has signed a warhead production contract with MBDA France for the MMP medium-range missile. The order has been placed with Saab’s subsidiary Saab Bofors Dynamics Switzerland (SBDS). Deliveries are scheduled for 2017. The MMP (Missile Moyenne Portée, medium-range missile) is a high-technology, new-generation battlefield missile. It is established as one of the French MoD’s major new programmes.

The Indian Army is likely to soon issue a 'Request for Information' for a new single calibre assault rifle to replace its INSAS rifles after it scrapped a four-year-old tender for purchasing 180,000 multi-calibre weapons. Defence sources also ruled out that the army has shortlisted any particular gun to replace the INSAS, which had entered service in the late 1990s.
