China would like to strengthen its military cooperation with Cambodia.

As good neighbors, good friends, good brothers and good partners in a community of common destiny, China firmly supports Cambodia to take a path of development suiting its own national conditions, also supports Cambodia's efforts to maintain sovereign independence, keep stability and accelerate development, Sun said.
 

Chinese military is willing to strengthen cooperation with Cambodian military in the areas of exchange of group visits, construction of military academies, medical service, personnel training, and multilateral affairs to achieve new progress in bilateral military relations, Sun added.

During their meeting, Sun elaborated China's principle stance on the South China Sea arbitration unilaterally initiated by the Philippines. Sun said that China thanks Cambodia for its adherence to a fair stance on the South China Sea issue and its full support for China.

Nem Sowath said that the traditional friendship between Cambodia and China has been carried forward for generations, and the mil-to-mil exchange and cooperation also contribute to the development of bilateral state relations.

The Cambodian government and military are grateful to China for its enormous support and assistance, and will always adhere to the one-China policy and firmly support China's stance on the South China Sea issue, Nem Sowath said.
