Turkish Company FNSS unveils first PARS III 8x8 armoured vehicle for Oman armed forces.
During an official ceremony, July 12, 2017, the Turkish Company FNSS has officialy unveiled the first PARS 3 8x8 armoured vehicle that will be delivered to the armed forces of Oman. FNSS has announced the delivery of 172 pars armoured vehicles in 6x6 and 8x8 configurations.

The IFV Infantry Fighting Vehicle variant for Oman Armed Forces is fitted with the FNSS one-man turret Saber-25 turret armed with one ATK M242 25 mm dual-feed automatic cannon and one 7.62mm coaxial machine gun.

The PARS III was unveiled in 6x6 and 8x8 configuration during IDEF 2017, International Defence Industry Fair, that was held in Istanbul from 9 to 12 May 2017.

The PARS III is a new generation of wheeled armored combat vehicle fully designed and developed by the Turkish Company FNSS. It has been developed with a special emphasis on mobility, protection, payload and growth potential.

The designe of the vehicle is very unique with a very large crew compartment at the front, the engine in the middle and troops compartment at the rear. The two-man driver’s cab at front of the vehicle offers a 180° horizontal field of vision and a high level of driving safety and comfort.

The PARS III hull can be brought up to the level of protection required by the user thanks to the modular design armor system. The hull form, underbelly structure, base plates and specially developed mine-resistant seats are designed to protect personnel against high-level mine threats.

The PARS III 8X8 combat weight is 30,000 kg and is powered by a diesel engine. The vehicle can carry a total of 12 military personnel including driver, commander and gunner.

The PARS III 6X6 combat weight is 25,000 kg, and is also motorized with a diesel engine. It can accommodate a total 9 military personnel with 6 infantrymen at the rear, gunner in the turret and driver and commander at the front.
