MELLS is the German acronym for “multiple role lightweight guided missile system” constituting the Spike LR (“long range”) product. The Spike guided missile will supplement and expand the weapon system of the armored infantry fighting vehicle Puma as a high precision, stand-off-capable component enabling highly effective engagement against armored targets and infrastructure targets.

Russia not to impose a no-fly zone in eastern of Ukraine to end the violence in the country
 
Russia said Wednesday, June 3, 2014, it was not mulling a proposal to have the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) impose a no-fly zone in eastern Ukraine. "At the current stage, we are not considering such an initiative," deputy foreign minister Gennady Gatilov told reporters, adding western countries would not back the proposal.

NATO Defence Ministers on Tuesday (3 June 2014) agreed to continue and further reinforce NATO’s reassurance measures in the wake of the Russia-Ukraine crisis. “This is a time for all Allies to play a part, and all Allies are doing so”, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said. “Every single Ally is committing resources to our collective defence. When we say NATO’s defence is “all for one”, we mean it.”

Turkey to allow Qatar Armed Forces to acquire share worth of $72 million in the BMC Company
 
Turkey's ES Mali Yatirim, owner of anti-landmine vehicle manufacturer BMC, asked the competition authority for permission to have Qatar army's industry committee on its board to help with BMC's recovery. Turkish investment company, ES Mali Yatirim, sought permission to have Qatar’s army invest in the company in order to resume production in its recently acquired military vehicle manufacturer.

Old Russian-made T-72 main battle tank of Kazakhstan Army to be modernized by Russia

Iran to unveil new Qadir phased array radar system able to detect targets at 1,100 km
 
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Monday unveiled Qadir phased array radar system in a ceremony participated by Commander of Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmayeeli. The radar which can detect hostile flying objects up to 300 km in altitude and 1,100 km in distance was tested in Payambar-e Azam (the great messenger) 6 wargames in 2011.

Norway and Sweden intend to buy 2,000 military logistic vehicles from Rheinmetall Defence
 
Rheinmetall has just booked another big order for its state-of-the-art, high-mobility truck families. In the medium term, Norway and Sweden intend to buy as many as two thousand military logistics vehicles with a total value of over €1 billion. Following the Norwegian procurement authorities, today Sweden too signed the framework agreement for joint procurement of military logistics vehicles from Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV).
