Russia`s Ministry of Defense (MoD) is willing to developed self-propelled guns (SPG) based on wheeled chassis, according to a source in the indigenous defense industry. The wheeled variant of Koalitsiya-SV has yet to be officially unveiled. However, Russian newspaper Vestnik Mordovii has published the photo of the system designated as 2S35-1 Koalitsiya-SV-KSh (KSh stands for wheeled chassis-based, Kolyosnoye Shassi) on the move.Scale model project of Russian-made wheeled self-propelled howitzer.

It is based on KAMAZ-6560 heavy transporter and incorporates unmanned combat module of basic 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV SPG. TsNII Burevestnik, the designer of 2S35 both variants does not disclose the specifications of the systems as the related data are highly classified. At the same time, Russian Zvezda TV channel closely associated with Russia`s MoD has partially lifted the cover of strict secrecy and described several features of the newest SPGs.

According to the information provided by Zvezda, 2S35 has a maximum firing rate of more than 10 rounds per minute, an effective firing range of over 40 km and an ammunition load of about 70 152 mm rounds. Koalitsiya-SV features advanced fire control system (FCS) that can choose the most suitable type of munition in automatic mode. Both Russian and foreign defense analysts suppose 2S35 to be the most rapid-firing self-propelled gun in the world. Due to the integration of innovative barrel cooling system, the specialists of TsNII Burevestnik could increase the system`s firing rate, leaving behind such Western SPGs as German Panzerhaubitze 2000 (PzH 2000) and the US M109A6/M109A7 Paladin Integrated Management (PIM) platforms. According to Zvezda, 2S35 has shown "an extremely high precision level during the live-fire trials" due to the introduction of an advanced ballistic computer. Russian Armed Forces have already tested a new rocket projectile for 2S35 that has a range of 70 km. Koalitsiya-SV is supposed to be able to conduct firing in MRSI (Multiple Round Simultaneous Impact) mode.

The newest SPG is armed with 152 mm L/52 2A88 rifled howitzer. Koalitsiya-SV is based on the chassis of T-90A MBT powered by V-92S2 multifuel diesel engine (1000 h.p.). 2S35 has also received a remote controlled weapon station (RCWS) with 12.7 mm 6P49 Kord heavy machinegun located on the turret`s rooftop. According to the press department of Russia`s MoD the Western Military District (WMD) is slated to receive the first batch of tracked Koalitsiya-SV SPGs before the yearend.
