The VSHORAD MT-LB variant has been jointly designed by the Kazakhstan engineering - 811 auto repair plant and Kazakhstan Aselsan Engineering LLP.

Equipped with an Aselsan launcher and four Igla-1 surface-to-air missiles, this new MT-LB variant can be deployed against fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft, UAV, and missiles. Its two-axis stabilized turret features a 360° rotation angle and elevation from -5° to +65°.

The turret is equipped with an automatic target tracking and a “target in range” warning system if the target is within the missile firing range. Its flexible architecture provides autonomous as well as coordinated operation with Air Defence Battle Management Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence and interoperability with allied countries air defence systems.

Salvo firing capability enables the system to perform simultaneous firing of two missiles to one target, dramatically increasing the fire power of the system. The gyro-stabilized turret of the system and integrated optical sensors enable on-the-move target surveillance, detection, tracking and target type recognition.

The Igla-1 system and its 9M313 missile entered service with the Soviet army in early 1980s. The missile has an operational range of about 5.2 km, a speed of 570 m/s and is fitted with a sole explosive warhead.

The JSC "811 Automobile Repair Plant CI", a part of JSC "NC" Kazakhstan Engineering", specializes in major repairs of automobile and engineering vehicles, modernization of military equipment, production, overhaul and modernization of fire truck tankers.
