Russian Artillery units of the Western Millitary District receives Tornado-G MLRS
A Russian Western Military District artillery large unit has received two battalion sets of the Tornado-G multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), the district’s press office said.
     
A Russian Western Military District artillery large unit has received two battalion sets of the Tornado-G multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), the district’s press office said.

"The artillery large unit of the Western Military District’s all-arms army, which is based in the Bryansk Region [in west Russia], has received two battalion sets of the Tornado-G multiple launch rocket system that will replace the Grad MLRS," the press office said."Servicemen of the artillery large unit will hold the first live-firing exercise with the use of the advanced systems in the first quarter of 2017," the press office added.

Compared to the Grad MLRS, the Tornado-G system is 2.5-3 times more effective. The Tornado-G multiple launch rocket system is designed to attack exposed and sheltered manpower, armored vehicles, artillery and mortar batteries and command posts.
