On July 9, 2024, BAE Systems announced the delivery of advanced AN/ALR-56M radar warning receivers to the U.S. Air Force. The AN/ALR-56M is a sophisticated radar warning system by BAE Systems that plays a crucial role in protecting U.S. Air Force aircraft, including the C-130J Super Hercules. These advanced systems, valued at $133 million under contracts with the Defense Logistics Agency, enhance the ability of these aircraft to navigate and operate in contested airspace.

In Nashua, New Hampshire, BAE Systems emphasized the significance of this system, which has been integrated into over 1,700 aircraft, including the F-16 Fighting Falcons, over the past three decades. The AN/ALR-56M has demonstrated remarkable performance in combat, providing not only enhanced situational awareness but also threat response capabilities that have directly contributed to crew safety and mission effectiveness.

Lindsay Gallagher, the Director of Tactical Aircraft Electronic Warfare Systems at BAE Systems, stated, "The AN/ALR-56M has proven its ability to maintain operational effectiveness of aircraft against constantly evolving threats, affirming its indispensable role in the fleet."

This high-tech system offers long-range and broad-spectrum threat detection, with adaptive filtering to isolate threat signals in dense signal environments. These features enable pilots to rapidly respond to modern search, acquisition, and tracking radars, thereby ensuring freedom of maneuver and increased safety during operations.

The AN/ALR-56M is distinguished by its agile receiver architecture, which seamlessly integrates with various other avionics systems, such as jammers, countermeasure dispensers, and radars, including Scalable Agile Beam AESA radars. In November 2021, the system achieved Initial Operational Capability on the F-16 following a series of successful verification and validation tests.
