BAE Systems Hägglunds unstoppable Nordic Hero: BvS10 Beowulf
BvS10 Beowulf is the natural progression of 40 years of experience from the Bv206 and BvS10. A dual body amphibious vehicle, designed to boldly go where others fear to tread

BAE Systems Hägglunds BvS10 can carry 14 personnel or 8,000kg of payload at a maximum speed of 65km/h. It is also designed to be an all-terrain, all-condition vehicle, which is relatively low cost and amphibious without preparation. This kind of pedigree makes it ideal for such tasks as HADR (Humanitarian Aid Disaster Relief), Fire Fighting and Rescue Operations. It is powered by a Cummins 6.7l in-line 6 cylinder turbo diesel engine, which is located in the front car, and has a 6-forward 1-reverse gearbox. The rear car is connected using an articulated joint, which is also used for steering. The front car can be tilted forward for ease of maintenance, has a range of 400km, extendable to 1,000km and a swimming speed of 4km/h.
