Border protection and security of critical infrastructures are a complex challenge for homeland security forces as these areas provide a highly effective concealment option for hostile threats. To meet this challenge Elbit Systems and SIGINT Elisra developed a new type of radar FPR-10, that offers extremely long-range foliage penetration for border protection and wide-area persistent surveillance.

US State Department approved major sale of logistic equipments to Iraqi Army
 
The US State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to Iraq for a Foreign Military Sales Order II (FMSO II) to provide funds for blanket order requisitions, under a Cooperative Logistics Supply Agreement (CLSSA) and associated equipment, parts and logistical support for an estimated cost of $600 million. The principal contractor will be General Dynamics Land Systems in Sterling Heights, Michigan.

Fourth Iskander-M tactical missile system brigade set to be delivered to Russian army in November
 
The Kolomna Machine Building Design Bureau will deliver its second set of Iskander-M operative tactical missiles this year to the Russian Defense Ministry on November 18, the bureau's press service has reported. "This would be the fourth set supplied in the past two years under a contract between the Defense Ministry and the Kolomna Machine Building Design Bureau," says a report seen by Interfax-AVN on Monday.

Successful comprehensive trial for IAI's Barak-8 defense missile system
 
The Barak-8 Air and Missile Defense System has successfully completed a comprehensive trial of its components, the prime contractor Israel Aerospace Industries ( IAI) announced on Monday. A live intercepting missile was fired during the trial, which was carried out in conjunction with Indian defense and military officials and was the first involving a full operational scenario, the company said in a statement.

Czech small arms manufacturer CZ has sold 5 000 submachineguns and 50 000 pistols to Egypt, with deliveries of pistols currently underway. Last year Ceska Zbrojovka (CZ) signed a massive contract with Egypt’s Ministry of Interior for 50 000 P-07 Duty 9 mm handguns. This contract was fulfilled in 2013. Also in 2013, CZ supplied 5 000 Scorpion EVO3 A1 9 mm submachineguns to the Ministry of Interior.
