The S-400 Triumph (NATO reporting name: SA-21 Growler) is an medium/long-range air defence missile system developed by the Russian DEfense Company Almaz Central Design Bureau of Russia. It is the second generation of air defense system after the S-300.

"Many countries are interested in the S-400 and we discuss this subject with Saudi Arabia," he noted.

He reported that the previously signed defense procurement contracts with Saudi Arabia, worth around US$ 20 billion, have not been fulfilled for various political reasons. "Today, the military technical cooperation with that country is being resumed," Chemezov added.

The first S-400 enters in service with the Russian armed forces in April 2007. Recently, Russia has announced the delivery of S-400 to China. Turkey also expressed interest in purchasing S-400 air defence systems.

The system can engage all types of aerial targets including aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), and ballistic and cruise missiles within the range of 400km, at an altitude of up to 30km. The system can simultaneously engage 36 targets.
