International Armored Group to deliver 8 Jaws 4x4 APC to Royal Malaysian Police.
Global Komited Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary ofThe Weststar Group, a leader in automotive defense and special equipment sectors today signs a contract agreement with the Ministry of Home Affairs Malaysia for the procurement of eight units of IAG’s 4x4 Armoured Personnel Carriers Jaws at the 4th General Police and Special Equipment Exhibition and Conference 2015 (GPEC ASIA 2015).

The vehicles will be deployed under the provision of Royal Malaysian Police’s (PDRM) security operations.With the procurement, PDRM will be the first police department in the region to utilize IAG’s high mobility and high protection technologically advanced Armoured Personnel Carriers. The delivery of the Armoured Personnel Carriers is expected to be completed by end of November
 

The contract was signed between Global Komited’sCEO, Datuk IR Mohd Nasser Israiland Ministry of Home Affairs Malaysia’sSecretary General YBhgDato’ Sri Alwi Ibrahim. Present to witness the signing were Deputy Prime Minister, YBhgDato' Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and The Weststar Group Managing Director, YBhgTan Sri Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim.

In light of the contract signing, The Weststar Group Managing Director, Tan Sri Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim remarks, “The development of advanced armour technologies has driven a new demand for armoured vehicles. Within the context of the industry’s development, Global Komited, our defense arm has partnered with IAG to cater to the Ministry of Home Affairs Malaysia’sspecific requirements in expanding PDRMarmoured VIP vehicles’ fleet.”

He adds, “IAG’s Armoured Personnel Carrieris the most popular choice for armoured vehicles for its tactical abilities. The addition of the eight units will allow PDRM to add more depth to its security and tactical operations.”

With Asia being the fastest growing market in the respective sectors, The Weststar Group’s participation in the fourth edition of the exhibition places the company expediently to gain more traction in the technology-driven marketplace.

The IAG Jaws Armored Personnel Carrier is a vehicle solution specifically designed and engineered to meet the requirements of a high mobility, light weight armored vehicle for military and law enforcement agencies worldwide.

The standard Jaws armoring configuration provides protection up to CEN B6/NIJ III/STANAG Level I against caliber 7.62x51 Ball M80 and 5.56x45 SS109. With the available add-on armor kit, the Jaws protection can be increased to CEN B7/NIJ IV or STANAG Level II capable of stopping armor-pricing rounds (7.62x39AP and 7.62x51 AP). The design of the armor package has been optimized to offer enhanced blast protection against grenades, land mines and IEDs.
