An infantry fighting vehicle, an armored personnel carrier and an armored recovery vehicle based on the Kurganets-25 combat platform are currently undergoing preliminary trials.

"After the preliminary trials are completed in 2017, the vehicles will start undergoing state tests," the press office said.

The group will also suggest delivering several examples of military hardware based on the advanced combat platform to Army large units for operational evaluation. Group specialists will provide technical support to them.

As the press office said, the serial production of vehicles based on the Kurganets-25 combat platform will start only after the state trials of their prototypes are completed.

The Kurganets-25 BTR is the armoured personnel carrier variant of the Kurganets platform designed, developed and manufactures by the Russian Defense Company Kurgan Machine-Building Plant to create a new family of light tracked armoured vehicle.

The Kurganets-25 BTR is fitted with one remotely-operated turret armed with a 12,7mm heavy machine gun.

The Kurganets-25 BMP is the IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle) variant of the Kurganets family. The Kurganets-25 could replaced the BMP IFV family currently in use by the Russian armed forces.

The Kurganets-25 is equipped with an electrically powered unmanned turret mounted in the centre of the hull. The turret is armed with the 2A42 30mm automatic cannon. A 7.62mm coaxial PKT machine gun is mounted to the left side of the main armament. Two launchers of anti-tank guided missile Kornet-EM are mounted on each side of the turret.

The Kurganets-25 BMP will have modular armor that can be upgraded for specific threats. Each side of the hull is also protected with passive armour protection. According to Russian Internet sources, the Kurganets-25 BMP is also fitted with the "Afganit" active protection system which provides protection against latest generation of rockets and anti-tank guided missiles.
