Description
The RG33 6x6 SOCOM AUV (Armored Utility Variant is a mine-resistant light armored vehicle designed and manufactured by BAE Systems Land Systems in United States. The RG-33 SOCOM AUV variant was based on the RG-33 6x6, with features designed to meet the requirements of US Special Operations Command. The BAE Systems RG-33 Special Operations Command (SOCOM) Armored Utility Variant (AUV) MRAP is a modified Commercial Off-The-Shelf vehicle designed from the ground up to reduce casualties and increase survivability for personnel subjected to mine explosions, improvised explosive device (IED) detonations and small arms fire.

Armament
The RG33 SOCOM AUV is fitted with a remote weapon system, armed with a 7.62 mm machine gun and smoke grenades discharger fitted to each sides of the turret.
Design and protection
The RG33 SOCOM AUV vehicle hull is protected to provide protection against improvised explosive devices, anti-personnel mines, small arms and heavy machine gunfire. As with other RG33 vehicles, the RG-33 SOCOM AUV has a V-shaped hull design to deflect explosions away from its crew and provides superior blast protection against symmetrical, asymmetrical and unconventional explosive hazards.. Large ballistic windows provide excellent situational awareness and multiple access points allow for rapid entry and egress of the crew. The layout of the RG33 SOCOM AUV is conventional, with the engine at the front, crew compartment in the middle, and a large cargo area at the rear of the chassis. The RG-33 SOCOM AUV provides 5,445 kg cargo payload and 16,330 kg towing capability to enhance SOCOM operations.
Mobility
The RG33 SOCOM AUV is motorized with a Cummins 400 I6 Diesel engine with a power of 600hp coupled to an Allison 3200 transmission. The vehicle uses a 6x6 chassis. RG33 SOCOM UAV can run at a maximum road speed of 103 km/h.
Accessories
The RG33 6x6 SOCOM AUV features Automatic Fire Suppression System (AFSS), air conditioning, communication C4I systems, jamming systems against IEDs and night vision.
