Boomerang Warrior-X is a soldier wearable shooter detection system that provides immediate detection of hostile fire or sniper attack. It enhances situational awareness by localizing the shooter(s) needed to coordinate rapid and informed team responses.

Boomerang Warrior-X combines powerful acoustic processing technology with compact, lightweight hardware to provide proven shooter detection solutions to the dismounted soldier.

It was launched in 2010 and it provides the same reliability, features, and advanced product benefits as the widely fielded vehicle-mounted Boomerang system that is supplied to US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.. The Boomerang Warrior-X is just significantly smaller, light weight and integrated with tactical vest.

For the first time anywhere, Raytheon is displaying and demonstrating its entire suite of non-lethal Silent Guardian® systems at the 2012 SOFEX trade show. Using millimeter wave energy to repel individuals, Silent Guardian provides proven infrastructure and platform protection without causing injury.

"Raytheon’s Silent Guardian systems are the best non-lethal solutions available today,” said Mike Booen, vice president of Raytheon’s Advanced Security and Directed Energy Systems product line. “Customers worldwide are interested in these systems to protect their high-value sites and critical assets.”

Silent Guardian directs a focused beam of millimeter wave energy that travels at the speed of light producing an intolerable sensation that causes targeted individuals to flee or take cover. The sensation immediately ceases when an individual moves away from the beam or the operator discontinues engagement. Silent Guardian does not cause injury because of the shallow penetration depth of the millimeter wave and the safety features built into the system.

"It has no lasting effect" said A-Lan vonHörnlein Reynolds, director of Non-Lethal & Counter Terrorism Security Solutions, who told us that the system's effects on the human body have been reviewed by a panel of medical experts over many years.
