Today opening of UMEX 2018 Unmanned Systems Exhibition in Abu Dhabi UAE


Today is the opening of UMEX , the International Unmanned Systems Exhibition and Conference which takes place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) from the 25 to 27 February 2018. This event is a unique opportunity for National and International Defense Companies to showcase latest innovations and development of unmanned military equipment from the land, aerospace and maritime areas.

The International Unmanned Systems exhibition UMEX, is being organised under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

With its central location in the Middle East, UMEX event will attract a large numbers of national and international visitors from the region but also from all over the world. The event's strategic partner, Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments (ADASI), showcases a wide range of products and services covering all autonomous systems.

Global demand for military unmanned systems, and especially the aerial equipment should grow by 6 percent each year from now until 2020, predict analysts at market researcher Research and Markets in Dublin. The UAV market was valued at USD 18.14 Billion in 2017 and is projected to reach USD 52.30 Billion by 2025, at a CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of 14.15% from 2018 to 2025.

The global military Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV) market will be driven by internal and external security threats, territorial disputes, and modernization initiatives undertaken by armed forces across the world. The global military UGV market values US$444.8 million in 2016, and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.76%, to value US$707.8 million by 2026

As the need for better border surveillance increases along with more sophisticated technologies making an entry, there is an increase on the demand for latest products in the fields of aerial, maritime and land drones. With UMEX, the organizers brought together the most important national and international companies that produce latest products of land, naval and aerial unmanned systems.

According to Brigadier General Rashid Mohammed Al Shamsi, chairman of the higher organising committee of Umex and SimTex 2018, the edition 2018 of UMEX is more bigger than the previous edition, and 34 countries participate in the event, with an increase from 91 exhibitors in 2016 to 122 exhibitors in 2018.
