First heavy buggy for Russian Special Forces will be presented in February next year.
The test sample of a big cross-country vehicle for the Russian special forces that can carry up to six armed fighters at a maximum speed of 130 kilometers per hour will be presented in February next year, aide to the head of the Chechen republic for interaction with law enforcement agencies Daniil Martynov told TASS. The vehicle is designed by the international training center for special task forces in Chechnya.

"Light buggies have been tested and now together with the F-Motor-Sport Company we are designing big buggies which will be made in Chechnya. We plan to present the test sample of the new cross-country vehicle in February," he said.

The new vehicle is over 4 meters long, weighs 1.5 tons and can drive at a speed of up to 130 kilometers per hour. It will be armed with Kord and Pecheneg machine guns and automatic grenade launcher AGS. The buggy will also be able to carry a drone launcher or stretches for several wounded, according to Martynov.

"Our buggies are a professional product which costs much less than American analogues because of Russian-made components," he said.

The light multipurpose Alabai buggies can carry a crew of three men and up to 250 kilograms of cargo. The vehicles have been tested at the training base in Gudermes and their serial production is scheduled for 2017.

"The multipurpose Alabai buggy was designed in Russia by our experts and passed various test trials in the most difficult conditions. 95 percent of its components are Russian-made," Martynov said.

The buggy is designated for operations in steppe, desert and mountains. It can be used as an attack, reconnaissance, evacuation, patrol and staff vehicle.
