New light tracked tactical robot UGV DOGO General Robotics armed with Glock 26 9mm pistol
Israeli Company General Robotics Ltd. has released a video on Youtube showing the light unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) DOGO armed with a Glock 26 9 mm pistol. This is the first light robot in its category that is able to carry a weapon. In fact, most of the other robot available in the market which are armed with different types of weapons are much larger and heavier.

The new light robot DOGO General Robotics is armed with a Glock 26 9mm pistol.
     

The robot can be used completely independently, and provide armed response capability while providing security to military or police teams. It can be also equipped with pepper spray, blinders or other less-than-lethal weapons. The DOGO robot is also fitted with two-way voice commands to conduct remote hostage negotiations.

The DOGO Robot has a total weight of only 12kg and is equipped with eight Day/Night cameras, giving the operator a 360-degree view.

The DOGO robot is based on ruggedized track system offering high mobility in all-terrain condirtion and capable to easily climbs stairs, clears obstacle-laden terrain and maneuvers quietly indoors or underground for about four hours at a stretch.

The DOGO Robot is controlled by the Ranger™ RCU, a "Point & Shoot™" interface that allows to designate the weapon towards a target simply by touching the target as it appears on the screen.

The DOGO Robot can provides a combat team with live video reconnaissance and the ability to neutralize threats remotely via a simple and intuitive operator control unit. It can be used by SWAT and special operation teams, law enforcement agencies, and first responders.

The Company has already performed several demonstrations of the new robot in Israel, and now the system is ready of production after many test fires of thousands of bullets in different types of terrains and missions.

The DOGO robot is not yet in service, but the Israeli Company Company General Robotics Ltd. will unveiled its new robot at Eurosatory 2016, the International Defense Exhibition which will be held in Paris (France) from 13 to 17 June 2016.
