"The TDA-3 is two to three times superior of its predecessors in terms of smokescreen output, generation speed and coverage area. In addition, the sophisticated aerosols it uses mask friendly forces from both visual observation and surveillance radars," the district says in a news release.

The press office added that the CBRN large unit had received an UKSOD integrated data gathering and processing system, RKhM-6 weapons of mass destruction (WMD) detection vehicles, special mobile smokescreen generators, etc.

The Southern Military District’s CBRN forces are to receive about 50 more examples of up-to-date materiel, including USSO versatile special decontamination systems, ARS-14KM special decontamination vehicles and RKhM-6 CBRN reconnaissance vehicles.

"The up-to-date materiel has made up 60% of the inventory of the Southern Military District’s CBRN units, thus boosting their readiness and reducing possible personnel and materiel losses in combat," the press office concluded.
