The Abkhazian Armed Forces is the military of Abkhazia, a breakaway republic of Georgia, whose independence is recognized only by Russia, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Nauru, Transnistria, and South Ossetia. The Abkhaz army forces are around 5,000 personnel, and a reserve force with 45,000 soldiers.
The Abkhaz army land forces is around 4,500 soldiers, with the structure:
- three motor rifle brigade, each with 1 tank battalion and 3 infantry motor rifle battalions, 1 artillery regiment, 1 joint training regiment, 1 reconnaissance battalion, 1 mountain infantry battalion, 1 air defence battalion, and 1 engineer battalion.
