Kazakstan Paramount Engineering showcases Barys 8x8 armored vehicle at ADEX


The joint venture in Kazakhstan of Paramount Group, the African-based global defence, and aerospace company, Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering (KPE), is exhibiting its Barys 8x8 armored vehicle at the Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition (ADEX-2022) held in Baku.

"Barys" 8x8 is designed specifically for the Kazakh army, positioned as a multipurpose armored vehicle equipped with advanced technologies, capable of performing the functions of an armored personnel carrier and an infantry fighting vehicle.

The declared characteristics: length - 8 m, width - 2.8 m, height over roof - 2.4 m. Combat weight, depending on the configuration - up to 28 tons. Maximum speed - 100 km / h, cruising range - 500 km. Crew - 2-3 persons, landing - 8 persons.

The reserve offers protection against small arms, fragments and mines. The declared level is STANAG 4569 level 3. The bottom is flat but provides level 4B protection (up to 10kg TNT equivalent), energy absorbing seats are fitted.

An Ansar remote-controlled combat module, developed in Kazakhstan, is installed as a weapon. The module is equipped with a 72A30 2 mm automatic cannon, a PKT 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun, and smoke grenades. Designed for the installation of ATGMs.
