Poland wants to show its modernization in the world of the defense industry at ALMEX 2010.
 
 
Poland already showed since long time its modern industrial capacities in the world of the defence industry. With a representation of more than 11 companies to the Albanian MIlitary Defence Exhibition, ALMEX 2010, Poland shows its capacities thus required the last equipment and services to meet the needs for the modern armies with the constraints imposed by NATO on its members, which is the case for Albania which has just recently joined the Alliance.
OBR CTM S.A. is a Polish Naval Research & Development Centre located in Gdynia. It does research, development, design and experimental works to develop and implement modern solutions in the field of naval technologies as well as in the field concerned with national security and defence
The "Jakusz" company was set up in 1985 - its origins however reach back to forties last century when te father of the present owner was occupying with the production and repairing of safes.The safes and the treasuries produced by the Company has revolutionized the market and were used in bank of many countries. Activity of the Company is based on Polish capital.

PIAP, Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements, is a pioneer in the area of mobile robots in Eastern Europe and is also a unique producer of high qualitry mobile robots for counter-terrorism in Poland.
 

WB Electronics is the leading systems integrator and supplier for specialized electronics and communications equipment for command & Control applications in Land Forces

Zaklad Automatyki i Urzadzen Pomiarowych AREX was established in 1989. It has been operating as a commercial company since 2005. AREX designs, tests and manufactures elements of industrial automation, measuring devices, as well as remote supervision diagnostic systems and control systems. We execute investment projects on an all-inclusive basis.
 
The Company Pojazdy Specjalistyczne Zbigniew Szcz was established in 1992 and is one of leading manufacturers of special-purpose vehicles in Poland now. At the present the Company has 100 employees with very good general professional preparation and skills and experience necessary for the construction of special vehicles. French Defense Industry at ALMEX 2010

Strong presence of the French defence industry at the Albanian defence exhibition, ALMEX 2010.
 
 
The French defence industry wants to show its capacities to modernize the Albanian army with the participation of Renault Trucks Defense, a company leader in the design of armoured vehicles, which presents two of its new products, the Sherpa APC armoured personnel carrier and its new modernized armoured vehicle the VAB Mark II, equipped with new armour Level 4. Since 1850, the Marck Group is a French company based in Paris, which is specialized in the design, the production and the sale of uniforms, body armour and military equipment.
The « Sherpa Light » family of 4x4 tactical and light armoured vehicles is designed to provide light forces (infantry, paratroopers, marines, internal security…) with the best mobility / payload compromise of its category. In addition to its outstanding on and off-road performances, the Sherpa Light is fully air transportable (A400M / C-130), multirole and ready for being up-armoured (ballistic and mine kits). The Sherpa Light has already been adopted by NATO, France and other countries.
The “Armoured Personnel Carrier” is a 3 doors protected troop transport version for up to 10 soldiers with their equipments. It is also able to receive any mission or weapon system thanks to a large internal volume.

The VAB Mark II is a new armoured personnel carrier as robust and reliable as the “combat proven” VAB (more than 5000 units worldwide) but upgraded to the latest standards in terms of mobility (320 hp engine), payload, protection (ballistic, mine and IED kits) and comfort.
The VAB Mark II is ideally suited for combat and peace keeping missions with the capacity to transport up to 2+10 soldiers. The VAB Mark II 6x6 and 4x4 variants are also adaptable to any customer’s specific need: ambulance, command post, weapon systems carrier…
The VAB Mark II is adapted against the new threats as IED (Improvised Explosive Devices) and land mines with anew armour Level IV and new soldiers compartment with the latest technologies as new mine protected crew seats and more.

Today, the French Company Marck Group has acquired a well-established reputation with French and Foreign administrations, not only for its products quality but also for its services.
Marck Group award a contract to make the design and the study for the new combat and ceremony uniforms for the Albanian Army.

Albanian Navy and Air Forces at ALMEX 2010

Live demonstration of the Albanian Navy and Air Force in Durres at ALMEX 2010.
 
 
Today’s simulation of the Albanian Navy and Air Forces in Durres for ALMEX 2010 International Exhibition on Security and Defense focused on anti-terrorism trainings and fighting methods, as well as environment protection within NATO’s framework and the Albanian Army Modernization Strategy.

Asked about the current needs of the Albanian Navy in armament and equipments Admiral Kudret Cela said: “Right now we need and light armament for our soldiers on boats and small caliber ammunition for our fast cost guard vehicles. But we are also interested in ammunition for large ships, as right now we are building 3 new “ILIRIA” ships based on older Dutch project, in our base in Pash Aliman in Vlora. But we also need new communication equipment and other elements for providing secure and efficient Navy ships. ”
Capitan Lieutenant Alfred Velaj says: “Our ships are a 2010 product, but our ammunitions date from 1960’s Russian production. It is very important for us to modernize such system.”

 

Present during the simulation were Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia and many military attaché in Albania.

“It is a very interesting demonstration. I was present also last year, but today it was much better” says the Russian Attaché. “I don’t know why Russian firms were not present in this first edition of ALMEX, but I am sure they will be present the next one.”

“It’s a very good presentation of the going on modernization of the Albanian Army” said the Romanian Attaché.

“It’s a very impressive demonstration!” says the German Attaché in Tirana who followed the ALMEX 2010 activities during all its on-the-field demonstrations.

“It’s an excellent event already in the first edition, I think the next will be even more powerful.” says the Chinese Attaché.

“Beautiful demonstration, beautiful place and beautiful people” says one of the Italian guests to ALMEX 2010.

The First Defence and Security Exhibition in Albania

During the first day at the Albania Defence and Security ALMEX 2010, the visitors and exhibitors could attend several demonstrations of the Albanian armed forces, and more particularly of the Special forces. ALMEX it's real time demonstration including shooting ranges and instruction, tactical combat demonstration, live demonstration of weapons, vehicles, communications equipment, combat simulations and a variety of military equipment.
 

 

At 17:00 PM local time October 28, 2010, the Albanian ministry of defense, and several personalities of the government and armed forces inaugurated the opening of the 1Th Albanian exhibition of defense and safety, which will be held from October 28th to 30th 2010. Albania joined NATO in 2009, and is in the obligation to modernize its army, with new vehicles, armaments and individual equipment. Currently, the Albanian army uses vehicles going back to several years from Chinese and Russian production of old technology. It was a long way of direct efforts and contributions of the Albanian Government led by Prime Minister Proof. Dr. Sali Berisha, to bring Albania more willing than ever to the NATO Summit in Strasbourg-Kehl, April 2010, the event that baptized Albania a full member of the Alliance.
In this era of remarkable successes for the Albanian Government, arose the project of ALMEX, Albanian Military Exhibition. Within this framework, defense and security exhibition ALMEX is a true opportunity for the international defense and security industry to presenting their last products and innovations, create new market and offering their products and services to accelerate the modernization of the Albanian army.
