The eight-year agreement includes the supply of mast mounted, long-range surveillance suites and service support within the Canadian Army LRSS (Light Armoured Vehicle – Reconnaissance Surveillance System) project.

This project will modernize Land Force reconnaissance and surveillance capabilities. Modernization will be achieved through the acquisition of new sensor suites, vehicle and ground mounts, operator control stations and silent watch power supplies. These systems and equipment will collectively increase the performance of the LRSS and enhance the capacity to collect, process and disseminate information on the battlefield.

The LAV 6.0 further enhances the combat-proven LAV III. With an inherent Double-V™ hull and energy attenuated seats, the LAV 6.0 provides world-class protection. The vehicle also features an upgraded driveline, suspension, larger tires, and a more powerful engine to deliver significantly increased payload and superior mobility performance. Advanced electronics and sight upgrades provide improved target identification and weapon accuracy, all packaged in a turret with enhanced ergonomics and safety.
