Army 2019: Russian Helicopters presents Mi-38T helicopter


A prototype of the newest Mi-38T airborne transport helicopter has arrived at Kubinka airfield to participate in the Army-2019 forum, the Russian Helicopters’ press service said.

"The helicopter is demonstrated at a static exposition of the Russian Helicopters holding company. At present, the first production prototype of Mi-38T is finishing a series of flight trials prior to being delivered to the Russian Defense Ministry," the holding’s press service said.

According to the Russian Helicopters, Mi-38T will join a program of joint program of special flight trials shortly after being handed over to the military. The helicopter is due to come in service after the trials.

Mi-38T is an airborne transport helicopter crated on the basis of a certified civilian Mi-38 aircraft. The helicopter is fitted out with a set of additional equipment necessary for carrying out airborne and transportation tasks.

The helicopter’s configuration provides for a possibility of converting it into a sanitary variant. Additional fuel tanks can be installed on the helicopter to increase the flight range.
