"I ordered a national emergency plan that will acquire us nine batteries till 2013 and a first David's Sling system - the next step of the Iron Dome," said Barak.

"This emergency situation may last for several more days and we will operate as necessary," stressed the Defense Minister, who summed up IDF activities as professional in both defense and offense, led by the Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz to minimize threats to civilians.

"Several days elapsed since the terrorist attack last Thursday. The IDF has been forcefully striking those responsible for the rocket fire from Gaza at communities in southern Israel," said Barak, "most of the militants responsible for the attacks were killed in swift operations and we've been attacking terror sites and terrorist cells operating in Gaza."
