At the defence exhibition AUSA from October 21 to 23, 2013, in Washington, D.C., Diehl Defence is presenting modern equipment for American and international armed forces, as the 76mm ammunition family, Floating Smoke Pot and system tracks for main battle tank. Diehl Defence is a corporate division of the Nürnberg-based Diehl Group, concentrating all business activities in the fields of defence and security as a holding company.

As a competent partner of international armed forces, Diehl Defence is in overall charge of and coordinates the activities of numerous subsidiaries, program and affiliated companies.

The product portfolio ranges from highly accurate guided missiles for armies, air forces and navies, intelligent ammunition solutions to innovative reconnaissance and protection systems. In the fields of equipment, repair and modernization of military vehicles, Diehl Defence is also among the leading global suppliers.

The 76 mm ammunition family was procured by 20 navies worldwide. France placed an order with Diehl Defence for the development of insensitive 76 mm naval ammunition. Compared to the conventional variant, the new insensitive 76 mm type does not detonate in case of enemy shelling or fire on board. This enhances sefety and protection of the vessel´s crew considerably.

The so-called Floating Smoke Pot provides cover and protection for soldiers, vehicles and navy vessels and was procured by the U.S. Marine Corps.

The subsidiary Diehl Defence Land Systems delivers system tracks for the Main Battle Tank Abrams M1. The affiliated company JUNGHANS microtec has been supplying US armed forces with mortar fuzes since the end of the 1980ies.
