Azerbaijan in negotiations with Turkish “Otokar” Company on production of armored vehicles.
 
 
Azerbaijani Defense Industry Ministry conducts negotiations with Turkish “Otokar” Company on production of armored vehicles, said Defense Industry Minister Yaver Jamalov.
     
     

As of which armored vehicles will be produced, the minister said that the project on it was considered presently: “Negotiations are underway. Maybe, if joint production is efficient, it will be realized”.

Note that, MDI and “Otokar” signed a protocol of intentions on production of joint technique in October of this year. Otokar is engaged with the design, development and manufacturing of light armored tactical vehicles. Otokar has the state of the art armored vehicle testing and production capability. The current product range comprises light armored 4x4 vehicles in various configurations including Cobra, Akrep, Otokar APV, and Otokar Discreetly Armored Station Wagon. One of the most successful armored vehicle platforms, Cobra is a joint development with AM General of USA and utilizes many common parts with HMMWV. It is a winner of tender on production of Turkish National Main Battle Tank (ALTAY Tank).
