Following an new attack against the United Nations Forces in Ivory Coast this December 29th, 2010, the tension continues to grow. The partisans of Laurent Gbagbo the incumbent President incite to attack the HQ of Alassane Ouattara, a luxury hotel protected by the UN mission soldiers.

Speeches of incentive to violence would be diffused by national television. According to UN sources, the RTI would diffuse speeches which encourage the population to rebel against the ONUCI.

The accusations were levelled by the UN peacekeeping chief Alain Le Roy who blamed an attack on a UN convoy, in which a soldier was injured with a machete, on the broadcaster:
