Ukraine will develop a new national security concept and a new military doctrine in the near future, according to a presidential order published on the president's website. The order brings into force a relevant decision made by the country's National Security and Defense Council in November.

The council has ordered that work on a new draft national security concept be concluded and the document be submitted to the president within three weeks. A new draft military doctrine should be ready within three months since the national security concept has been approved by the president.

The Ukrainian cabinet should also approve the state arms development program for 2011-2015 within a month since the new military doctrine has been approved.
