Some 400 U.S. - Dutch NATO troops deployed on Turkey's Syrian border to operate Patriot missile

BAE Systems to begin production Paladin Integrated Management 155mm self-propelled howitzer
 

BAE Systems announced Thursday, December 6, 2012n, that the company plans to complete low-rate initial production (LRIP) of the Paladin Integrated Management (PIM) 155mm self-propelled howitzer system at the Elgin, Oklahoma facility located in the Fort Sill Industrial Park, home of the U.S. Army field artillery.

Russia's airborne forces (VDV) have started state acceptance trials of the new Iskatel (Searcher) lightweight unmanned aerial vehicle system, the system's makers said on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. "The VDV's 106th division has started testing the portable Iskatel UAV system made by the Popov Omsk Radio Factory," said Popov's Alexei Topekhin.

Tata Group of India unveils a new local-made 155mm Bofors wheeled self-propelled howitzer
 

The Tata group of India is to unveil India's first indigenously developed 155 mm howitzer in New Delhi on Monday, December 3, 2012. The truck-mounted howitzer was displayed at an army seminar at the Maneckshaw centre Tuesday, December 4, 2012. The rollout comes even as the Indian Army and the Ministry of Defence have struggled to import howitzers over the past 25 years.

Royal Guard of Oman Army carries out first operational firing of MBDA VL MICA air defense missile
 

On 24 September 2012, the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO) successfully carried out the first operational firing of a VL MICA missile. The firing, using the RGO’s own VL MICA Ground Based Air Defence (GBAD) system, took place at the Abeer test range located in the centre of the Sultanate of Oman in the presence of the highest political and military authorities in Oman.
