Army of Slovakia takes delivery of first MRAP Navistar MaxxPro donated by the United States.
Army of Slovakia has officially took delivery of first MRAP Navistar MaxxPro donated by the United States to the Ministry of Defense. This delivery shows the relation between the two countries with the goal to create interactions between the Slovak and American Special Forces.

"We are trying to obtain financial or military equipment assistance from United States, not only for the budget of the Slovak Republic, but also to seek funds from foreign sources." said Glvác the Defense Minister of Slovak Republic.

The new MRAP Navistar MaxxPro of Slovak army is equipped with latest generation of radio and communication equipment to increase operational communication with command post and aircraft support.

Navistar's MaxxPro is a mine-resistant ambush protected (MRAP) armoured fighting vehicle. Designed to endure improvised explosive device (IED) attacks and ambushes, MaxxPro can withstand ballistic arms fire and mine blasts.

The MRAP is already in service with the Slovak engineer troops deployed in Afghanistan which are used by EOD team. The U.S. forces have already lent seven of this type of vehicle.

The Slovak Commander of Training and Support, Colonel Martin Stoklasa sai," The priority is the training to perform convoy missions by the ISAF Slovak troops. This training can save life of our soldiers in combat operations."

According to the Slovak Ministry of Defense, the next step will be the delivery of new helmets, weapons and other equipment such as military gear equipment, sights for weapons, communication systems to ensure the tasks of Special Operations Forces.
