Ukrainian company Ukrinmash, the main exporting arm of the state defense manufacturer Ukroboroprom, has signed an agreement with the US company Barrett Firearms on supplies of weapons for the needs of the national Security Service and the National Guard, Ukroboronprom said on Friday, December 12, 2014.
Headquartered in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Barrett is the world leader in large-caliber rifle design and manufacturing.

“The terms of delivery have been minimized so that servicemen could get all the necessary equipment as soon as possible,” the report said.

Barrett Firearms specializes in the manufacturing of firearms, optical appliances and harness. Ukroboronprom singled out large-caliber rifles among its produce.

Somewhat earlier, Ukrinmash, a company supplying weapons, ammunitions and specialized equipment, signed an agreement with the ATN, a US-based producer of night-vision and thermal imaging optics, and several agreements with Thales Group of France for delivery of high-tech equipment for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Ukrainian Army and the National Guard have been tightly involved in a military operation in the much-troubled rebellious eastern regions of the country that has claimed many hundreds of lives of innocent civilians since its start in April.
