Global Clearance Solutions (GCS) has just released the GCS-100 remotecontrolled Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) platform. Multi-purpose usability in conflict zones In its current standard version, the GCS-100 has been developed specifically to meet the needs of security and military customers as well as humanitarian organizations. All of the new platforms are easily adaptable to the most unusual situations imaginable – multi-purpose usability is key. The GCS-100 is tailored to Counter Improvised Explosive Devices (C-IED) route, runway and unexploded ordnance (UXO) clearance operations. It is also configured to mechanically clear anti-personnel (AP) mines and also has benefits when used in the context of physical security and stockpile management (PSSM) programmes.

GCS has combined the field-proven reliability of previous platforms and attachments like the manipulator arm and the tiller with a completely new offer – custom on-demand attachments and front-end tools. “We are proud to have produced such an advanced platform that will respond to all our current and future clients’ unique requirements,” said Philipp von Michaelis, CEO of Global Clearance Solutions. Crucial quality components like the electronic units, the camera system, the exhaust pipe and the lifting lugs, which are exposed in competitors’ platforms, are now securely attached or integrated underneath the outer shell. A new cooling system, completely redesigned from back to front, ensures a faster and more effective cooling of the engine as well as greater longevity of all components. The GCS-100 offers also an improved weight distribution and falcon-wing-style doors for fast and easy access to all components. The machine is easy to move to and from the working area, using a standard 4x4 pickup truck or via air with both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft.

Global Clearance Solutions (GCS) is a leading company in the security industry and a provider of safe, reliable and cost-efficient mechanical solutions for the disposal of landmines, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and other remnants of war, as well as for runway clearance. GCS’s products are comprised of a platform and a tool that can be changed quickly depending on the use. These tools range from a robotic arm for IED clearance to a tiller attachment for destroying landmines. GCS currently has over 50 experienced employees, with headquarters in Freienbach, Switzerland and a production facility in Stockach, Germany.
