"The officers underwent additional training at the Kazan Red-Banner Higher Tank Command School. The remaining crewmen were trained on-site. The one-month training course allowed the crews to familiarize themselves with the advanced armament control systems and the specifics of the operation of the gas-turbine vehicles," the press office added. The crews will practice operating the new military hardware during the winter training session that started on December 1.

More than 30 upgraded T-80 tanks (no variant indicated) were delivered to the Eastern Military District’s motor rifle large unit stationed in the Jewish Autonomous Region in late August.
